19th century rosewood and brass inlaid decanter box, the hinged lid opening to reveal a set of three cut glass decanters with stoppers, with a drawer to the base with two compartments, 23 x 27 x 20cm.

More Information

Opens and closes correctly with just a little stiffness, but no key (there is a key in one drawer, but it didn't turn and is seemingly unrelated). It appears the box has been varnished, and this finish is starting to flake away on the front and top, leaving a bubbled appearance. Looking at the inlaid stars in the corners, it looks as though some of the black sections may be missing, possibly filled with woodfiller, it's hard to tell.

Some small damages to the wood along the edges, but generally no significant losses or cracks.

Glass bottles have some significant damage, one with a large crack and the other with the stopper broken in half and repaired, and in both the stopper is stuck. The other has general chipping along edges and facets.
